Edward Snowden: Glenn Greenwald Bitchslaps David Gregory on Meet The Press?

Even with official charges being filed by the U.S. government, Edward Snowden continues his globetrotting while being heralded as a hero by many opposed to the NSA data-mining program. Snowden has been reported to have left Hong Kong and is now in Moscow. In spite of a plea to turn himself in by his dad, it appears that Snowden is bent on living the life of martyrdom all the while miserably failing to not be the center of the story — in spite of his online Q&A session recently — as he has said he doesn’t want to be. Why? Because his actions as he has stated, were made in the interest of the American people.

Thinking about Snowden’s antics today, I had to ask myself the following: Wouldn’t it be nice if Assata Shakur were widely celebrated or even aided and abetted by Americans much like Edward Snowden has? Of course I realize that such a request would be asking too much of American citizens. I mean, we are post-racial today, but I suppose it’s not to the degree where a black woman in exile in Cuba can be celebrated. My guess is that considering that with Shakur being the first woman on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist list, to do so would be an act of treason.

Today on Meet The Press, David Gregory shockingly asked Glenn Greenwald why he should not be arrested for aiding and abetting Snowden. Greenwald is the journalist responsible for publishing Snowden’s revelations via The Gaurdian. He is also the journalist responsible for conducting the videotaped interview with Snowden which revealed him as the NSA whistleblower. In his interview with Gregory on Meet The Press, Greenwald also refused to divulge any information of Snowden’s whereabouts and travel plans. I don’t know, but that sounds like an obstruction of justice.
