Watch Martin Bashir Take Down Racist Tea Party CEO Larry Klayman

Larry Klayman is the CEO of the racist right-wing Tea Party organization FreedomWatch. Klayman has come under fire this week, for comments made at the recent Tea Party hijacking of last weeks rally at the World War II Veteran’s Monument to protest the recent government shutdown. At the rally which say at least one attendee waving a Confederate Flag outside of the White House, Klayman said the following:

“I call upon all of you to wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town, to get up, to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come out with his hands up.” – Larry Klayman

Yesterday, in an interview with MSNBC’s Martin Bashir, Klayman attempted to defend his comment. According to Klayman, his statement was not racist because, well, he was speaking metaphorically. Of course you can see from the direct quote above that what Klayman said was neither metaphoric or figurative. In fact, what Klayman said is more of the same racist rhetoric from the bowels of right-wing ignorance. Klayman’s comment was meant to cast President Barack Obama as an illigitamite American president, who is sympathetic to evil Muslims.

Thankfully, however, Martin Bashir and MSNBC contributor Professor James Peterson took Klayman to the woodshed. According to Klayman per a press release from FreedomWatch last Thursday, Obama “has repeatedly shown his pro-Muslim bias over Judeo-Christian values, to get up off his knees, put the Qur’an down and to figuratively come out of the White House with his hands up and resign.” The FreedomWatch press release also said, “While these references were intended to be metaphoric and not literal, they do ring true nevertheless.”

I don’t know about you, but there’s no evidence of this. I mean, last time I checked, Obama has yest to end any of his speeches with the line, “May Allah bless America.” Not that there’s any law that says he couldn’t say that if he so chose. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the U.S. Constitution affords us freedom of religion, no? Oh, that’s right; the guy living at 1600 Pennsylvania Av. happens to be diseased with melanin and a funny name.

Thanks to the U.S. Constitution, idiots like Klayman are protected by the First Amendment; and in many cases they hide behind it to justify their bigotry. However, it’s nice to see them and their idiocy demolished in national media. But hey, don’t tell that to my Tea Party friends.
