Allen West (R-Fla.) Defends Tea Party, Calls Black Caucus "Race-Baiters"

Sep 03, 2011 8 Comments by

So I’m hearing that Rep. Allen West is a lirttle pissed off, and is considering leaving the Congressional Black Caucus. Apparently he’s a tad bit disgusted by the CBC’s race-baiting tactics and attacks on the Tea Party. West as you know is a Republican, and a Florida Tea Party darling. If you ask me, his defense of the Tea Party and his touting of the CBC as race-baiters is just oh so Coontastic! For this he gets the Slave catcher of the week award.

U.S. Rep. Allen West of Florida says he may quit the Congressional Black Caucus for tolerating what he described as race-baiting attacks on the Tea Party, reports Politics365.com.

West, in a letter to the chair of caucus, took strong issue with words by U.S. Rep. André Carson, who holds the position of caucus whip.

“It is unconscionable when a fellow CBC Member, Congressman Andre Carson, comes to South Florida and claims that some in the Tea Party would love to see black Americans ‘hanging on a tree,” West, the only Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus, wrote in a letter to the caucus chair, U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri.

“Congressman Carson’s desire to generally criticize a large grassroots group as racist is baseless and desperate,” West said. “When individuals believe they are defeated in a political disagreement, they normally resort to race-baiting, which in my opinion is in itself racist.”

In his letter, West also expressed displeasure with remarks by another caucus member. “It is appalling to hear another CBC colleague, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, say ‘The Tea Party can go straight to hell.” Waters, D-California, made that fiery comment August 20 at a forum in Inglewood, near Los Angeles.

At a Congressional Black Caucus town hall discussion in Miami, Carson, D-Indiana, told attendees that the Tea Party was working against African Americans. “This is the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow,” said Carson. “Some of these folks in Congress right now would love to see us as second-class citizens. Some of them in Congress right now of this Tea Party movement would love to see you and me hanging on a tree.”

A video of Carson’s remarks is generating hits on Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze.com, and Sean Hannity’s, the FOX News celebrity, has given it a lot of attention on his radio show.

West, in a Thursday interview with Steve Doocy of “Fox & Friends,” defended the Tea Party, with which he has aligned himself in Congress.

“The Tea Party really stands for some basic, core constitutional principles, and that means efficient, constitutionally mandated government, fiscally responsible government, national security and our free market and free enterprise,” West told the Fox host. “I can’t see why anyone would not agree with that and not want to align themselves with those principles.” (source)

Wow, so the Black kettle of the Tea Party is calling the CBC and Rep. Carson racist? Oh well, experienced professional racism chasers like myself are used to this. I’m not sue if you might be; but, have you ever noticed that often the ones who point out racism, or challenge racist rhetoric are always met with the claim of being racist, by, well, racists? Yeah, it’s funny how that works out.

Yeah, look at what Andrew Breitbart is saying about Rev. Al Sharpton. Yeah, now they’re saying that Sharpton’s show on MSNBC is racist. But hey, people like “us” are used to this playbook; hell, being Black ain’t new. But don’t tell that to Allen “Holding My Ass Tight” West. After all, he is the modern-day Harriet Tubman on a mission to lead Negroes to freedom from the Democratic party ran by “plantation bosses.” Yeah, but the CBC are race-baiters, right?

They say “a coward dies a thousand deaths, the rave die but once.” Isn’t it good to know that the Tea Party has a good soldier like Allen West to defend them against their racism? I’m pretty sure they’ll give him a medal for his acts of heroism in the never-ending war of Tea Party racial politics.

Love the way you do that jig, Allen!

Hope you liked the 21 gun lawn jockey salute this week.

Man… this shit here is truly and almost unbelievably disgusting. He’s more than a slave catcher. It is said that when the slaves in America were “freed,” the chains were laid out before them and the doors to the plantation were opened wide. Many slaves, however, chose to stay on plantation, not because they liked it but because they had been conditioned to believe that their very survival depended on their servitude. This man is THAT kind of individual.

I can’t wait to hear Allen West say “I just joined the CBC so I could give the Tea Party insight into what the ENEMY was doing”, if he was of such a principled mind about the CBC why did he join? There is no rule that says you have to join the CBC, being the lone republican in the CBC I know he didn’t think they were automatically gonna make him the leader, or did he? The more we see of Allen West the more it becomes clear that he thought that he was gonna be allowed to come in and run the place just because he had a distinguished background.

Dear Allen, you are still black, you are also still a freshman in congress, as your Tea party caucus doesn’t do enough to try and meet, support policy, build any consensuses, or generally do anything to run the country while the Republicans may be in control of the house you will not be made the head of ANYTHING. If you can stand up for the Tea party and defend them from racist charges then you can also stand up and EXPLAIN their racist rhetoric, lack of understanding of reality, and out and out disrespect for the office of the President. If you truly are about respecting the constitution you would not have allowed the Tea Party to damn near default the country, the constitution actually has a clause about America’s debts WE PAY THEM(paraphrasing I know), The Constitution also says we shall provide for the GENERAL WELFARE. Like a bible the Constitution is only helpful if you READ and UNDERSTAND IT.

Defending somebody from a charge of RACIST by calling the other guy a racist doesn’t defend them, I mean if the saying is it takes on to know one didn’t you just STILL admit your guy is racist? Now i can’t say if your fellow congress person is racist, but with all of those RACIST SIGNS, PICTURES, POSTCARDS, JOKES and PLACARDS I’m not saying people are pulling the racist charges out of their asses I’m saying that the Tea Party may want to deal with their racism and THEN defend themselves from it. I mean what, you expect me to apologize when the only thing I hear from them is “food stamp president”(then white people should love him considering how many MILLIONS of white people are on food stamps), Historic Ni… I mean FIGURE, Unqualified (I mean a degree from Harvard doesn’t seem to be worth much, nor does working to help THE PEOPLE of his community have better lives), and yes I could go on but seriously how can I take them seriously when they don’t actually do anything about the overt racism we see in the Tea Party they just scream more and say that we are racist for pointing it out?

I don’t know RiPPa, this angry, uptight slavecatching fool really worries me.

I keep waiting for him to slip up and mess around and call himself a nigger one of these days…..and I’m quite sure that he won’t say “nigga”, it’ll definitely be “nigger”.

I keep thinking that Steve Gilliard would make mincemeat out of this guy.

Completely brainwashed.  But hey, there are hundreds of black people LIKE HIM.

    Imagine that.
