Recently, a high school student in Utah was accused of racism after wearing a pillowcase over his head during a spirit assembly at Alta High School. The pillowcase looked similar to KKK hood, and when student Larz Cosby (who is described as “multi-ethnic”) demanded that it be removed, the hooded teen taunted the concerned Cosby and yelled “white power.” Cosby then removed the boys hood and threw it to the ground. He later blogged about the incident, and reported it to authorities at the school.

The school district was forced to respond to racism in its schools after the allegations surfaced. A pattern emerged that indicated a pervasive problem with racism at the school, and numerous “serious” racist incidents were uncovered. The principal and vice principal of the school have been suspended with pay while the problems are being investigated.
Prompted by a March 18 incident where a student wore a white pointed hood to a school spirit bowl that some felt resembled the infamous Ku Klux Klan symbol, the Canyons School District has uncovered evidence of other “serious incidents” that have occurred at the school over the past year, according to district spokeswoman Jennifer Toomer-Cook.

“Canyons School District condemns and prohibits all forms of racism and discrimination,” she said. “We are taking appropriate administrative action.”

The district has placed Mont Widerberg and Mark Montague, principal and vice principal of Alta High, respectively, on paid leave while the investigation of the incidents continues, a school employee said. 

The district’s office of civil rights is looking into the hood incident, and based on the evidence it finds will come up with a course of action that could potentially include discipline for the student who allegedly donned the hood.

“It was completely recognizable,” said Taylor Risk, a student at the school….

…Toomer-Cook, who would not reveal the nature of the other incidents the civil rights office has turned up, said she doesn’t know how long the investigation will last, but she expects the school to cooperate with the process.

In the meantime, the replacement principal will be Ray Jenson, a previous Alta teacher and coach who left the school to pursue a career in administration, according to a school employee. (SOURCE)The Department of Justice is now getting involved in the racist incident by assisting at a meeting hosted by the school district designed to discuss the problem of racism in the Canyons School District. Representatives from the DOJ will be on hand for several days to help the district address the issue of pervasive racism, which, of course, the good white folks of Sandy, Utah want to deny exists.

The parents of the hood wearing teen jumped in to defend their son. They claim that his cry of “white power” and his white hood had NOTHING to do with racism. Apparently, they believe that their son was simply chanting “white power” to support his high school class, which was assigned to wear white at the spirit assembly. I mean, damn, I understand supporting your child, but when your kid fucks up, you need to recognize it, apologize for it, and make him understand how and why his actions were so harmful.

If parents, teachers, and school authorities ignore the topic of racism in children and teens, it does nothing to resolve the problem. Pretending that the world is color blind because you wish it was that way is not the answer, but apparently, most white parents believe it is, and raise their children with the impression that it is perfectly acceptable to never challenge their own racism or the racism of others.

People need to be held accountable when racist incidents occur. People can not just continue to dismiss racist incidents as “jokes” or as “misunderstandings”. There need to be repercussions for behaving in a manner that is threatening to other people. Make no mistake, racist words and deeds ARE threatening, whether directly or more subtly, and need to be treated as such. I hope, for the sake of Larz Cosby and all of the rest of the nonwhite students of the Canyons School District, that this incident is taken seriously and all of the parties involved in allowing this atmosphere to exist are held accountable.

Gary DeWester, the owner of “The General Store” in Noblesville, Indiana, is happy about the controversy caused by the racist labels on soaps sold in his old fashioned store. He believes that the outrage that this product has caused is “free publicity”, and will help bring people into his shop. After all, racism sells, and the almighty dollar is king.

Gary was told by the owner of the building in which he leases his store that he must pull the offensive product from the shelves. He has refused, citing the notion that people are “too politically correct”. He even states (with pride) that “our country was built on racism”. Mr. DeWester is now facing the possibility of losing his lease because of his refusal to stop selling these racist items.

I remember seeing items from the past that used blatant racism as advertising. I was always appalled that people found such things perfectly acceptable, and wondered how anyone can look at such things and not be offended. Today’s racism, though just as insidious, always seemed to be more subtle (for example, the Old Navy commercial I wrote about a few weeks ago) But, obviously some people still believe in good old fashioned, in your face racism.

Sometimes I wonder what is worse, the obvious racism of these soap labels (which I am sure some people will label as “kitschy” or “nostalgic” despite their offensiveness) or the more subtle racist messages in media today. Most people will look at this soap and immediately recognize that it is unacceptable to portray these images. But, sadly, people will look at the Duncan Hines Amazing Glazes commercial (featuring Black face in cupcake form) as just a cute ad for a new product. So, have things really changed all that much?

I had a great holiday weekend, folks. Actually, I knew it was gonna be great weekend the day before Thanksgiving when I saw white folks on CNN bitching about getting felt up at airport security checkpoints. One dude was righteously indignant about being anally probed after opting out.

Now I can understand if you didn’t know opting out of walking through a scanner would result in a three finger anal cavity search without Vaseline a pat down much like bouncers do at a night club minus the cover charge. But damn, don’t hit me with the, “Do I look like Osama Bin Laden,” after the fact.

Dude was actually on CNN being interviewed and he said that. Not really surprising especially when it’s coming from a white person who isn’t used to being subjected to such intrusive tactics in the interest of ghetto security. However, it was hilarious hearing white folks declare:

“How dare you ask me to bend over, spread my butt-cheeks, and give you two good coughs! I’m White, Goddammit!! Do I look 3/5ths human, bitch!!!”

Moral of the story: That’s what you white folks get for moving out of the hood. Had you people opted to stay there instead of run to the ‘burbs, you’d be used to this shit like we black folks are.

Yeah, don’t blame this shit on Barack Obama! It’s Michael Chertoff, bitches!!

But anyways, I had a great weekend with family and friends. I also celebrated my wedding anniversary on Saturday and had the opportunity to catch Kevin Hart’s “Laugh At My Pain” tour stop here in Memphis.

Shit was seriously funny, and my wife was in tears the entire time. No seriously, if you get a chance to catch him on tour, please do so. I promise, it’s well worth it, and much better live. And, well, your date might be more willing to have sex with you after the show… yeah, pineapples bitch.

Speaking of marriage and anniversaries… it’s Cyber Monday, y’all! As you know, the Thanksgiving holiday weekend is the jump-off to the Christmas holiday season. And who needs getting trampled outside of stores and America’s modern slave plantation, Wal-Mart, when there’s Cyber Monday! I gotta tell you, nothing sells like convenience in this country and I love it!

Seriously, being at work today getting paid to shop online and take advantage of those huge discounts on internet porn is the shit, son! Cyber Monday has only been around 5yrs, but I’m glad that someone somewhere found it imperative to fully embrace online porn; and, decided to keep the “cyber” in cyber-sex for the promotion of commerce. Hey, gotta keep the “Christ” in Christmas, no?

Lastly, I wanna give a big shout out, and mad props to the good folks over at No Wedding, No Womb. We’ve had our differences in the past, but it’s great to see that my influence has served as a shift in paradigm from the unrealistic idea of no sex (or kids) before marriage. Maybe they caught the latest article in Time Magazine, Who Needs Marriage? A Changing Institution.

It’s really good that these folks have now spurned the idea of shaming black women and single motherhood, to go as far as to create a new theme song for the movement. A song that better carries the “message” that is #NWNW. A song (and message) which will be better embraced by the black community. A song that says a lot more than “get your tubes tied and have all the raw sex you want.”

Um, yeah… so… OK… you read the title and yes, it is about what it says it’s about. In swear, some of these stories you guys send me via email sound like the type of stuff straight out of a Hollywood movie.

I mean there’s no way that something like this is true, right? But there’s a mug shot to accompany this story. Which means, that, well, somebody got arrested, and yeah… the mouse in the booty thing could quite possibly be true.

I promise, you can’t make this shit up, people:
SENECA, SC (WCSC) – A burglary call for Oconee County sheriff’s deputies turned bizarre Monday morning when their suspect was found naked with a mouse in his rectum and apparently drugged, an incident report shows.

Authorities responded to Bernwood Circle near the town of Seneca late Monday morning after a resident complained of a burglar. When deputies arrived, they found Noah Smith, 24, lying face down and naked inside the doorway of the victim’s home, the report stated.

When the deputy tried to make contact with Smith, he slapped the deputy. In return, the deputy deployed his taser, which had no effect on Smith, the report stated.

With reinforcements, deputies approached Smith again in the victim’s bedroom. A deputy managed to handcuff Smith before he jumped off the victim’s bed and tried to kick other deputies in the room, the report stated.

Then, according to the report, Smith was pepper sprayed. Undeterred, Smith continued to kick at the officers and otherwise evade capture. He was struck with a police baton several times, and Smith attempted to bite the deputy.

Smith’s head and mouth were covered with a blanket to prevent him from biting. He was wrestled down so shackles could be placed on his legs and his arms were hog-tied, the report stated. An EMS crew responded and provided a stretcher to which Smith was also tied.

Deputies and officers from the Seneca Police Department opined that Smith might have been high on mushrooms, and identified equipment that could be used to get high in the victim’s home.

During a medical exam at a nearby hospital, medical personnel found a mouse tail hanging from Smith’s rectum. An X-ray revealed a mouse lodged inside Smith.


He told emergency room personnel that he could not remember what had happened to him.

After the medical exam, he was charged with resisting arrest, 1st and 3rd degree assault a battery charges, and indecent exposure. Smith was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. I’ve seen dudes on “Cops” so high that tasers, pepper spray and even bullets don’t mean shit to them when they encounter the police.

So yeah, I could see a guy sitting in jail telling his story about how he whooped the police’s ass like he was the Hulk. But, I don’t think beating the po-po’s ass with a mouse in your rectum qualifies as thug-ish.

But hey, maybe that’s how they get down in South Carolina. Lord knows I’ve done some silly shit while being drunk and or high in my life. But I’d be damned if I’ve ever done some stuff that landed me in jail, or at least left me having to explain some shit so f@#ked up that I’d have to leave the state.

I mean, at what point do you decide to put a rodent in your asshole and break into houses? I swear, you white folks do some crazy shit. I’ve heard of Richard Gere and Gerbils in the booty, but a mouse?

Hugson Jean must be the most patient man I have ever seen in my life. This witch, Erica Winchester (who teaches public speaking) went on a long ass, racist tirade and he kept his cool through the entire episode. She even slapped him, and still he did not even raise his voice. And, he is the one who lost his job! Thanks to youtube though, this woman’s disgusting behavior did not go unseen, and hopefully will not remain unpunished.

People always ask me why I think about racism all the time. They think I am obsessed. In fact, I had a conversation with a friend this morning, who told me I need to stop thinking so much about all the ways in which white people spread evil throughout the world. But, how can I?

How can I ignore the fucked up legacy I inherited based on my skin color? How can I turn a blind eye to the ways in which “my people” have degraded, demeaned, and destroyed entire populations and cultures? How can I deny the racism that I see every day?

The thing is, this woman claims she is not prejudiced. So do 99% of white people who support the fucked up racist agenda of the global system of white supremacy. I know this. I hear what white people say when they think no one else is listening. I know that the majority of “good white folks” are, in fact, fully capable of exploding in a similar racist diatribe at any moment.

The irony of this story is that damn near everybody will jump in to condemn this woman, rightfully. But then, they will go home and talk about how their children are so lucky to not have any of “those people” in their classes at school. Or they will label every Black person they work with, or attend college with as “affirmative action candidates”. Or they will call the police when they see a young Black man walking through their neighborhood on his way to a party. Or move away when a Black family moves in next door.

Racist pigs like Erica Winchester sicken me. But, I feel less anger at people like her who let their racism show freely, than those who proclaim to be color blind, yet instill hatred and fear for people of other races in their children. The media, which portrays Black people almost exclusively as criminals, pisses me off more than this woman. The brainwashing that the public school system instills in children by teaching them that all significant progress in this country has been the work of white folks is far more dangerous and insidious that the racist ramblings of one old alcoholic bitch.

It is easy to dismiss such blatant racism as the ravings of a mad woman. It is far more difficult to recognize and ameliorate the subtle, every day racism that resides within all white people. The “good white folks” who swear up and down they are “not racists” are the ones who offend me more than anyone else, simply because if they do not even attempt to recognize their own innate biases, they do not bother to challenge them.

I have heard speculation that Ms. Winchester is mentally ill, and her sickness contributed to her disgusting actions. However, I think that using mental illness as an excuse for her racism is ridiculous. Even if she is mentally ill, she is obviously high functioning, because she owns her own business. So, there is no excuse for this type of behavior. I am so sick and tired of people blaming everything on mental illness. It assumes that people with psychiatric diagnoses are incapable of knowing right from wrong. Her words came from a place of hatred, not illness.

I hope that Erica Winchester suffers the consequences of her actions. She was charged with assault and a hate crime last year, but according the police, Mr. Jean did not want to testify against the woman. However, he claims that he was never asked to appear in court, and that no action was taken against Winchester. I hope that nobody ever hires her again to conduct training seminars. I hope that the authorities revisit the idea of charging this woman for her crime. I hope that she is embarrassed to show her face in public. And I hope she becomes a pariah in her community.

Some of the most ingenious individuals walking the earth, are drug addicts; no bullshit, I’m for real. I mean when you’re a slave shackled to a drug addiction, you’ll do just about anything you can to get your hands on money to get high. Now I’ve personally heard some stories and have met my share of addicts in my time. But nothing I’ve ever heard can compare to the following story of Angie Boyd from Richmond, Indiana. Not even on A&E’s weekly show Intervention, will you hear anything remotely close to anything like this woman has done. I’m serious; this shit takes selling VCRs at 4am to get high to a whole new level:

As elaborate a scheme as she attempted to pull off, one has to wonder if she was trying to go for the motherload (um, no pun intended). She lied about the death of her daughter. And even went as far as to say that she was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. I know Richmond Indiana is a small town and all, but I’d like to think that people would have known about the death of her daughter prior to this.

But hey, dope fiends are some of the most convincing people in the world, so, it’s easy to see how she would be able to pull something like this off, had her brother not decided to drop a dime on her. I’m not sure if what she did was a crime, that is, if she hasn’t defrauded anyone of any funds as a result of her scheme. However, I do hope they find her, and get her the help she needs.

I live just minutes walk from the Prudential Center in Newark. And on hockey night it is not safe for colored girls like me to be walking alone. Mobs of drunken white men are escorted by the police to the Pru so that they can get two hours of more drinking, head bashing and cursing.

They own the night in downtown Newark as they are allowed to do whatever they want, and especially be bloody violent—all in the name of the game.

With the recent brawl in the stands at a popular tennis match, I now know where I have to go so that I can fight and get away with it. It’s easy. I’ve got to find a tennis or hockey match to beat a bitch.

Like the brawl @ the US Open. You’ve seen it. No arrest, no fine, just a gentle slap on the wrist.

Oh wait, I forgot, I resemble Serena Williams. Forget about it. That’s jail time and 92k. Bad negro behavior in public violates the slave & black codes and Jim Crow laws.

And yes, I’m going to say it. The privileges of certain flesh tones and class assumptions (though the three perps look hot off the trailer express) are amazing.

I know what the overall rationale is. Someone is sayig, “These people were just temporarily losing their heads, they really mean no harm. Just let them walk it off.”

But I know Serena is somewhere with her feet up looking at a flat screen, shaking her head and saying, “Ain’t this a bitch.” Welcome to America folks, land of many contradictions that suit the needs of the power brokers.

I haven’t been in a nightclub or bar in quite some time, but I’m sure things haven’t changed that much from my clubbin’ days. I’m sure the guy who looks like somebody’s perverted but-I’m-still-cool uncle still shows up sporting a jheri curl; and, I’m sure that the one drunk dude bound to catch a bad one every week, hasn’t learned his lesson from his last beat-down. The years may change, but the characters stay the same, folks.

Speaking of which, checkout what happened to Kevin Morris, of West Haven, Connecticut, while out at a Hookah Bar last week. No joke, this is one of those “When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong” skits straight out of Chappelle Show; only difference, this isn’t some well written hilarious made up sketch for TV.
Last Thursday Morris swaggered into the Fire & Ice Hookah Lounge on Campbell Avenue in West Haven. Just what happened next isn’t entirely clear since there appears to be only one press account of the incident — and that one limited in detail. But after entering the Lounge, in the words of Amanda Pinto of the New Haven Register, Morris began “shout[ing] profanities and racial epithets at a group of black and Arabic people.”

Pinto doesn’t say what the epithets were. And it’s not entirely clear what the clientele is or what kind of place the Fire & Ice Hookah Lounge is. But one thing’s clear: it ain’t a mosque. And while Middle East-themed and seemingly patronized by at least some people of Middle Eastern descent, the presence of the belly dancers, “Gina” and “Katie,” who perform on Friday evenings, suggests that if it caters to Muslims, it’s not for the particularly devout [..]

[…] In any case, Morris comes into the Lounge shouting his epithets, apparently really drunk and at some point tries to grab the bartender by the throat or strangle him or something. But things did not go well for Morris. The folks in the establishment were not interested in that kind of an evening and proceeded to administer Morris a serious beating. As Pinto put it, Morris “was punched in the face by at least one of the people he was shouting at” and when police finally arrived he was “bleeding profusely from the face.”

Morris was treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital and charged with 3rd degree intimidation due to bias and 2nd degree breach of peace. He is still in police custody. (source) I’m not a violent person, nor do I condone acts of violence; but, I damn sure wish I could have been there to witness this. Seeing some drunk idiot get knocked the fuck out in a bar or club is way better than must see TV.

Sadly, I’m pretty sure this clown didn’t learn anything, and it’s good to know that he’ll live to receive another asswhoopin, at another day and time. Oh well, you know what they say: punks jump up to get beatdown:

Like me, you’ve probably never heard of Jerry Kane. Chances are, the two West Memphis police officers he killed after a traffic stop a few days ago didn’t either. But here we are a few days removed from that tragic event where four lives were senselessly lost here in the mid-south. And just what was his reasoning? Well, the picture seems to be a bit clearer as to just who 45yr old Jerry Kane actually was:

Jerry Kane was not a man wanted by the police; he wasn’t on the run for murder or any other serious crime. Instead, like a few we’ve seen emerge over the last year and a half. He was a man with a belief. A firm belief which suggests, that government encroaches upon his freedoms, here in the US of A. Yes, Jerry Kane was a right-wing, anti-government, white supremacist who made no bones about what he stood for or believed. He believed himself to be a sovereign citizen, or more specifically, a member of the Christian Patriot movement.

People like Kane with a similar mindset, or ideology, have long existed in this country. But the question I have is why does it seem like these folks are coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden? When within months of each other, an angry white man flies a plane into an IRS building, and a group of people identified as a Christian Extremist Militia are arrested by the FBI. One has to ask: What the fuck is really going on in America?

What’s causing all of this? Surely it cannot be the election of a black president, or the subsequent racist anti-government rhetoric that has suddenly dominated our political landscape. Surely that has nothing to do with it, no? I’m guessing we’ll have to wait on an assassination attempt on the president before that question can be answered.

I mean this isn’t exactly one of those cults waiting on a spaceship to take them to another world beyond the stars. These are people who aren’t afraid to act on their beliefs. These are people who are resigned to the fact that if innocent people are injured in the process, then so be it. In the case of Kane, those innocent victims were not only two West Memphis police officers, but also his 16yr old son who he has withheld from attending school his entire life. A life cut short because of the marriage of politics and religion.

Look, I often highlight the wrong doings of police officers across the country on this site; police officers who are sworn to uphold the law, who deserve to be exposed for their actions. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the fact that theirs is a function that is extremely dangerous. It is bad enough that they have to encounter the obvious criminal element among us, and risk their lives. But it is even scarier to think that there are people like Jerry Kane who though not criminals, are willing to commit murder and assault authority, all because of his belief.

I hate to say it, but the world is better without him. And lastly, his friends and family have some nerve demanding compensation from the West Memphis police department for the burial of this asshole. But hey, that’s how that white privilege thing works, no? Ideology aside, I say that much of his entitlement is predicated on him being a white man. But I could be wrong, and Barack Obama could be right. Maybe they do cling to their guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren’t like them, as a way to express their frustrations.
