Having said that, just in case you have held on to the idea of Obama being a Muslim — you know, because being a Muslim would make him anti-American — without the necessary evidence as proof. In steps everyone’s favorite right-wing religious zealot and bigot, Bryan Fischer.

Speaking on his radio show, Fischer states that the exchange of America’s last POW in Afghanistan, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five members of the Taliban held in GITMO proves that Obama, is indeed a Muslim. Which is shocking because you’d think that the Kenyan birth certificate seen by our friends on the right would have that information. I mean, we had to wait all these years for this as evidence?

Bryan Fischer said the deal to release Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl provides further evidence that President Obama “is secretly a Muslim.”

 

Asserting that Obama insisted on releasing five members of the Taliban as part of the exchange deal because he is constantly attempting to assist radical Islam all over the world, Fischer asserted that Obama’s “face lit up like a Christmas tree” when Bergdahl’s fatherbriefly spoke in Arabic at the White House, which is another reason to believe that Obama is actually a Muslim.

 

“I’ve had Washington insiders tell me everyone in D.C. believes that secretly he is a Muslim,” Fischer said, “and when President Obama does stuff like this, it starts making that explanation easier and easier to believe”

Fuck, you would have thought Obama’s meetings and brokered deals with the Taliban wouldn’t be a big deal. Especially since President Ronald Reagan sat down with the Taliban at the White House back in the 1985 and brokered deals with the Taliban himself. Oh well, I guess the Taliban didn’t take pictures with Saint Ronnie Raygun on that day.

(Hell, Reagan even gave the Taliban stinger missiles!)

But don’t tell this to people like Allen West — or the rest of the crazies — who, thanks to FOX News, stated that Sgt. Bergdahl’s father “Claimed the White House for Islam.” I mean, a white man with a ZZ Top-looking-beard who could pass as the redhead cousin of the Duck Dynasty crew, standing next to Obama? While speaking in a language familiar to the Taliban and Obama’s extremist Kenyan cousins? Yep, we only have two more years of this ignorance left.

Hell, how dare America’s first black president bypass congress (less than any other president since the 19th century) basically, to save the life of an American citizen? And not just any citizen; but, a citizen who has sacrificed his life for the freedom everyone enjoys. Damn shame that POTUS isn’t allowed to properly serve as the Commander-in-Chief without having his allegiance questioned.

He also claimed that Democrats “want slaves” just like in “pre-Civil War days” and have been able to accomplish their goal by turning government into “one big giant methadone clinic.”

But what was really insulting was the line where he said that African slaves were dependent on their slave masters for everything. So, in so many ways, we as black people in America, cannot help our conditioning. Well excuse me, I know I wasn’t there back when “we” pickled cotton and sugar cane for free, so I could be wrong. However, something tells me that I’m sure African slaves would not have been opposed to the idea of, oh, maybe receiving a weekly paycheck for their labor.

Yes, I would like to think that maybe, just maybe, just maybe on the off-chance that said slaves were paid, that they may be able to go to the store and buy an occasional candy bar for themselves, rather than having to “depend” on their oppressors for such treats. But, but, but wait it gets worse. Fischer, forever the Bible touting nutjob, also said that African-American voters who vote for Democrats, were also idolators according to the Bible. Yes, slavery and religion go hand in hand.

The worst bigot is the one who hides behind a Bible.

Black voters, Fischer explained, are practicing “a form of idolatry,” and therefore violating the Ten Commandments by supporting Democratic candidates and staying “on the Democratic plantation.” Yep, free money is our God of worship I suppose

Now the truth is, the Democratic Party ushered in civil rights legislation – as southern “Dixiecrats” broke with the Democrats and left for the Republican Party, which welcomed them with open arms – Fischer once again distorted the historical record and said Democrats were hostile to the civil rights movement. A claim that us black folk know all too well from many conversations with our brainwashed brothers and sisters who proudly call themselves Black Republicans, and even “runaway slaves” as we discussed on this very site recently.

But hey, I suppose this type of talk is to be expected from the very people who once used the very Bible they hold dear to justify the oppression of the people they conveniently continue to marginalize by proxy by voting for, and supporting the implementation of policies to further marginalize a disproportionate number of people of color.
