I find it interesting this incident took place in Dearborn Heights, adjacent to Dearborn a sundown suburb. In 1928, Fordson and Dearborn merged to prevent being absorbed into Detroit. Ford Headquarters is located there as well.
Theodore Wafer’s home was an inheritance, so that would essentially mean that his family lived in that area since the initial residential restrictions against most POC.

I moved out of Dallas after a bullet went through my front window and missed me by inches.
