The Compassion Of Dr. Ron Paul: OK, OK, OK, He Isn’t Racist, Here’s The Proof, Sheesh!!

Dec 31, 2011 25 Comments by

Last tim around I was called a “nigger” by a Ron Paul supporter in my comment section; and, I must say, the irony of that really made my day. Nothing like debating the racist past of a wannabe presidential candidate, and having a supporter of his attempt to d4emean me by using a racial slur. If he only knew me he would know that it takes a lot more than that to insult me. As a matter of fact, it’s long been my opinion that anyone who uses the word “nigger” to insult a Black person does this out of fear. Some people say it’s hate; and yes, this may be so. However, in 2011 or 2012 depending on when you’re reading this, it is only out of fear that a powerless individual uses the word.

OOPS!!

So yeah, I don’t sweat that shit one bit. Shit, you think slaves cried themselves to sleep every night because they were called “niggers.” Nope, instead they were busy trying to figure out how to get out of their situation. Oh, and I don’t have to tell you many of them were quite successful and figured it out. So yeah, with a Black family in the White House right now, I’ll be a “nigger,” a proud one at that. Because at the end of the day, it’s good to know that some of you are afraid of Black folks after all these years.

I suppose this is why they’re clamoring and trying to do all they can to prove that Ron Paul isn’t a racist. Along with the slew of videos popping up of Black folks professing their love for Ron Paul on YouTube. There is now a Blacks For Ron Paul 2012 page on Facebook. I suppose all of this proves he isn’t racist. But just in case you’re still skeptical, check out the following video making the rounds today. The following video is all the proof we need to understand that he is not racist, or that there isn’t a racist bone in his body. Yep, after watching the following, you’re supposed to forget the racist newsletters, or him hanging out with the paleoconservative John Birch crew. Yep, because at the end of the day, all it takes is one act of kindness to kill racism. That’s right, all it takes is one act of kindness. Behold “The Compassion of Ron Paul!” How can he be racist if a Black guy says he isn’t.

Have you ever heard Ron Paul say anything Racist? And Paul will give a speech to anyone and everyone to promote the message of liberty. And by the way, just because a black person is in the white house doesn’t mean everything is okay. It is the content of their charicter. Their policies. Judging sum1 by their skin color is the dummest thing I can think of. It doesnt mater if it is a white or black or yellow or red person doing the judging, the one doing the judging are themselves racist. They see people in groups, instead of looking at the individual. It is dangerous. And that is why racism still exists in all races, white/black/yellow/red all are racist because each see ppl as groups and not individuals.

Heard Ron Paul say anything racist?

How about reading his own newsletter?

      http://www.mrdestructo.com/2011/12/game-over-scans-of-over-50-ron-paul.html

And, if he didn’t write the newsletters (which called for Race Wars; rounding up Black Men; comparing Blacks to Animals; complained of Whites Not Being Able to Insult Blacks, Gays, Women, and so on), then why has Ron never named who actually wrote the newsletters – AND then UNEQUIVOCALLY denounced the content of the newsletters as being bigoted?

If it came from his pen, then he should apologize.  If it did not, he needs to take responsibility for allowing the people with whom he associated with to publish such garbage.

Really, Bob, the “Colorblind” defense doesn’t hold water.  Nor does the “Black Best Friend” distraction.  And, dollars to doughnuts, you will not find Ron Paul voluntarily speaking before a group consisting mainly of Black People.  Because someone will ask him about the newsletters – and his positions on the Civil Rights Act.  And his published opinions on Dr. Martin L. King.  And so on.

      Try again.

The letter never called blacks animals it was referring to criminals, if you want to assume that animals means blacks then your the racist.

        • http://heavyarmor.wordpress.com Heavy Armor

          Jason,

You really are new to the idiocy called Ron Paul.

          By all means, defend this:

          http://tinyurl.com/bvm7rhl

And that hardly even scratches the surface of all the things that Ron Paul has ever said of Blacks.  I won’t even get into his bigotry against Gay People (he even refers to them as an “All Powerful Homosexual Troika” in the linked page).  And, remember, Ron Paul wrote these newsletters for 20 or more years.  And they are filled with similar opinions and suppositions.

But yet, according to folks like you, I’m the “racist.”

Come back when you stop firing duds.

          • Larry

They uncovered the author of those newsletter articles, which included the eight sentences: James B. Powell.

Something tells me you won’t care, tho…

      • Anonymous

Paul did take responsibility for the news letters, and you act like the main focus of those letters were duragotory, when in fact it was 8 sentances outa 45k. By any means, Paul has given speaches regarding racism in 1988, and there are vids of it on u-tube. Also, it is racist to establish groups of certain ppl. Can a mexican join the congressional black caucus? How about a black joinin the hispanic causcus? Catch my drift? If there is to be no racism there is to be no group mentality. You have to start seeing people as individuals and judging them on the content of their charicter. Also, the president of the texas NAACP has defended Paul sayin he knew him for 20 years and vowed that he is not racist. Along whith others. And Paul doesn’t believe in affirmitive action, does that make him racist? If you do, you would then be calling Malcom X racist right? Because he didn’t believe in affirmitive action either.

        • http://heavyarmor.wordpress.com Heavy Armor

          Oh, this is rich.

And where is this magnificent speech that he gives regarding racism back in 1988?  Because all of his speeches and positions he gives back during this time period say otherwise.

Second, I’ll give you the same link I gave poor Jason above:

          http://tinyurl.com/bvm7rhl

          8 “sentences,” my unexploded landmine.

Third, the President of the Texas NAACP, according to you, now speaks for Black People?  Seriously?  And because this one Black Person “vows” that Ron Paul is not racist, I should disregard EVERYTHING that Ron Paul has said and written himself?

Four, I don’t even know what to make of your statements regarding the “Racial Caucuses.”  I do find it funny that you restrict yourself to the Black and Hispanic Caucuses, in an attempt to call some kind of “Hidden Racism” among people who have been historically targeted by White Privilege for discrimination and bigotry.  And then you tell ME that I should judge people on the content of their character, a typical White Invocation of Dr. Martin L. King when trying to deflect the conversation.  And, by the way, your argument on this point is exactly like Ron Paul’s own, except that he also complains about not being able to discriminate against Blacks.

Here’s a newsflash:  I have judged Ron Paul, not on the color of his skin, but of the content of his character.  I find him to be a typical bigot who attempts to hide his repulsive views behind anecdotes, Bell Curve-style research, and insipid self-righteous interpretations of the King James translation of the Bible.

Your material is old, Bob.  And I mean grandfather old.

          • Anonymous

Yeah the NAACP should speak for colord ppl, it is an organization for advancment of colord ppl, so I think it holds water, and plenty of black ppl have said Paul is not a racist. Also, people have come a long way. 50 years ago there were real bigots murduring minorities and commiting hate crimes. Today, there are still hate crimes, but they are commited by all ppl of every race and it does need to be stopped, but that wont happen untill people educate themselves and practice the golden rule. I think the ppl back then would be laughing about all this nonsense today. Second, No one has ever heard Ron Paul say anything racist. No one. Yes there were some profane things written under his name, but you act that every newsletter was, when it was in fact only 1 or 2. And BTW I didn not see any profain name calling in those articles. There were some profane comments, but no name calling at all. Any way, if you care more about the newsletters than someone who voted no on the NDAA/UNPatriot Act(which discriminates minorities)/Iraq War/Congressional Pay raise/Congressional pentions/Congressional Healthcare/Junkits/debt ceiling increaces/unbalance spending. And is for bringing the troops home from the middle east and germany/japan/ending the patriot act/NDAA/individual liberty/equal rights for everybody including gays(he voted yay for DADT)/ending the drug war(which discriminates minorities)/balancing the budget without cutting SS/Medicare. If you are against all that don’t vote for Paul. You act like only white people are capible of being a bigot, when in fact all ppl are capible of being bigots. So let me guess, all these people who support Ron Paul are bigots too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiFKBPtFKdE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiFKBPtFKdE

Ron has taken responsibility and said that he should have been more vigilant in ensuring the content of the newsletters. I agree that the newsletters are very racially charged but I also believe Paul did not write them. The newsletters are real, some of them are racist, he has taken responsibility for not keeping a closer eye on the content, and he has said he disowns any of the ideas presented. He is not racist, some of his supporters are, sadly, but Ron is not. He stands for the same freedoms across all races and sexes, preferential treatment for no one. I disagree with the content of the newsletters but still support Ron Paul for president 2012. I can’t see anyone else that can possibly get this country back on the right path. I know he can’t fix it by himself and I know congress plays a huge role. But I believe in freedom and equality for all. RP 2012

        • http://heavyarmor.wordpress.com Heavy Armor

You need to read more of his newsletters.

You also need to pay attention to the ever changing reasons for the bigoted and homophobic content that had been present in his newsletters for the better part of a decade or more.

The fact that Ron has allowed “his supporters” to paint Ron himself as a bigot and a homophobe speaks volumes.  Paul himself never retracted nor condemned the racist or homophobic screeds that were found in nearly all of his Newsletters while the Newsletters themselves were being distributed – and allowed Mr. Paul himself to make major dollars off of them.  So Paul is either a liar, an opportunist, or simply ignorant OR naive about race relations.  Any one of these disqualifies him for POTUS.

Paul has never denounced the support he received from White Supremacist organizations like Stormfront, when they announced front-and-center that they supported Paul (just on the newsletters alone).  Instead, he tries to justify taking their funds.  Someone who is not a bigot would simply return the money and denounce the organization.  Or, failing that, they would stick a needle in the eye and donate that money to an organization that the racists would hate.  Thus, Paul has no conviction or strength of character.

Finally, Paul does not stand for anyone’s freedoms at all.  His statements are always couched at the “Federal Level.”  He would do absolutely nothing to stop “The States” from re-enacting Jim Crow laws, ramping up their own version(s) of the War on Drugs, allowing outright discrimination (or more) against Women, Blacks, Gays, Latinos, and so on (you should check out what Paul thinks about the 14th Amendment.  It is a doozy).  Oh, and forget about the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts – both of which were enacted after the US Constitution gave ALL PERSONS BORN IN THE US THE RIGHT TO VOTE – because the States enacted laws designed to keep Blacks out of the voting booth.  Because Paul has made it clear (for whatever his own reasons) that he opposes both of them.

Paul offers nothing but empty slogans.  The fact that his empty slogans sound better than most of the crowd is not reason to celebrate.  Paul just knows how to play his base, like Gingrich does with his.  And that’s the only truth you need to remember.

Dr. Paul is far from perfect, but I’ll say this much for the Texas congressman: He has never authorized a drone strike in Pakistan. He has never authorized the killing of dozens of women and children in Yemen. He hasn’t protected torturers from prosecution and he hasn’t overseen the torturous treatment of a 23-year-old young man for the “crime” of revealing the government’s criminal behavior.

Can the same be said for Barack Obama?

Sure he’s a murderer, in other words, but at least he’s not a Republican! Put another, even less charitable way: Democratic partisans – liberals – are willing to trade the lives of a couple thousand poor Pakistani tribesman in exchange for a few liberal catnip-filled speeches and NPR tote bags for the underprivileged. The number of party-line progressives who would vote for Ron Paul over Barack Obama wouldn’t be enough to a McDonalds, with even harshest left-leaning critics of the president, like Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi, saying they’d prefer the mass-murdering sociopath to that Constitution fetishist. I have a problem with those who imagine themselves to be liberal-minded citizens of the world casting their vote for Barack Obama and propagating the notion that someone can bomb and/or militarily occupy Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and Libya and still earn more Progressive Points than the guy who would, you know, not do any of that.

Let’s just assume the worst about Paul: that he’s a corporate libertarian in the Reason magazine/Cato Institute mold that would grant Big Business and the financial industry license to do whatever the hell it wants with little in the way of accountability (I call this scenario the “status quo”). Let’s say he dines on Labradoodle puppies while using their blood to scribble notes in the margins of his dog-eared, gold-encrusted copy of Atlas Shrugged.

    So. Fucking. What.

Barack Obama isn’t exactly Eugene Debs, after all. Hell, he’s not even Jimmy Carter. The facts are: he’s pushed for the largest military budget in world history, given trillions of dollars to Wall Street in bailouts and near-zero interest loans from the Federal Reserve, protected oil companies like BP from legal liability for environmental damages they cause – from poisoning the Gulf to climate change – and mandated that all Americans purchase the U.S. health insurance industry’s product. You might argue Paul’s a corporatist, but there’s no denying Obama’s one.And at least Paul would – and this is important, I think – stop killing poor foreigners with cluster bombs and Predator drones. Unlike the Nobel Peace Prize winner-in-chief.

If you are willing to continue to support the killing thousands of innocent people because he “might” have written some offensive stuff 25 years ago you need to a good long look in a fucking mirror cause you are sick twisted individual. Here is the

1988 video on him explaining why the justice system is racist.

  • http://twitter.com/dredpiraterob dredpiraterob

the fact that ron paul is a racist (evidenced by the racist newsletters he published) doesnt mean he is ONLY a racist…he, like all of us are many things simultaneously…he is also a doctor who has a desire (like all professionals) to practice and use their skill…he is also a libertarian who cant help but hope for a survival of the fittest society where men of privilege sit back and ridicule those born less fortunate…

i always find it funny what people choose to advertise…lots of times its things they are proud of…but if you pay attention you will notice that lots of times its things they are not…take walmart for example…i rarely see large companies highlighting what a great place to work they are during expensive advertising buys like football and baseball games..but walmart does…think maybe its because they are vulnerable there?…ron paul seems to be pulling a “walmart ad buy” strategy with these ridiculous examples…the mans news letter actually said

“Opinion polls consistently show that only 5% of blacks have sensible political opinions.”

wow…now just think of the fire storm that would have come down on him had he said “jews” instead of blacks…i understand folks like ron paul…but the folks that do need to understand folks like me will will keep calling him a racist…because thats what he is…

  • http://twitter.com/dredpiraterob dredpiraterob

also has anyone looked up where the senator rand paul was during the time these newsletters were published under the name ron paul…maybe the senator was had a hand in crafting these newsletters as well…

You ought to be worred about Planned Parenthood. Talk about destroying the black community.

But no, lets create a boogeyman and name him Ron Paul. The idiocy of race-baiters never ceases to amaze.

  • Larry

As a Ron Paul supporter Id like to apologize for that idiot who called the n-word. To be honest, I highly doubt it was a true RP supporter. I remember in 08 there was a user by the name of barackobamaexpress on YouTube the most inane and inflammatory sh*t, all under the guise of a black man. I called him on his facade and he just tried to run me around in circles. No doubt it was a McCain supporter trying to cause ruckus, most likely a white guy too…

I’m Mexican and I ain’t down with that racist sh*t. Ron Paul is not racist. If he were he would not go on national tv, in front of an all-white audience, in a nearly all-white New Hampshire, in a GOP debate and rail against the institutionalized racism of the judicial system. You know how much that probably hampered his campaign?

But Ron Paul don’t care. He tells the truth.

That man by the way, up in that video, was one of MANY minority parents for whom he delivered children free for. If he was racist he wouldn’t give a f*ck.

By the way he has already stated that he will not do away with Head Start and other like programs.

  • Larry

By the way, if you haven’t heard already, the name of the author of those newsletter articles was revealed to be James B. Powell. NOT Ron Paul.

FACTS?!! These asshole are talking out of their asses and they speak of FACTS?!! OMFG!!!

Too rich watching all these black and brown apologists for Ron Paul. Talk about mass Stockholm syndrome!

First, these lame-assed defenses of the newsletters that carried his name: He says he didn’t write those newsletters, but the FACT remains that he PROFITED from them. And he NEVER repudiated them until AFTER they were outed. In addition, PAUL’S version of whether he repudiated the newsletters is false. When he was challenged about the newsletters during his Congressional campaign in 1996, he didn’t deny writing them and defended their substance:

“A campaign spokesman for Paul said statements about the
fear of black males mirror pronouncements by black leaders such as the
Rev. Jesse Jackson, who has decried the spread of urban crime.
Paul continues to write the newsletter for an undisclosed number of subscribers, the spokesman said.”Again in 1996, Ron Paul campaign spokesman, Michael Sullivan did not
deny Paul wrote the newsletters but said he was be “quoted out of
context” in a statement to to Austin American Statesman obtained by the Libertarian magazine “Reason.”:
“Dr. Paul is being quoted out of context,” [Paul
spokesman Michael] Sullivan said. “It’s like picking up War and Peace
and reading the fourth paragraph on Page 481 and thinking you can
    understand what’s going on.”

Also in 1992, Paul wrote, “Opinion polls consistently show that only
about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions.”

Sullivan said Paul does not consider people who disagree with him to
be sensible. And most blacks, Sullivan said, do not share Paul’s views.
Huh?!! FACT my brown Puerto Rican DICK!! Paul’s claim that “this has been addressed for 20 years” is pure KOOL-AID!

At the very least, this shows he isn’t fit for the office of the POTUS: HE CAN’T EVEN ADMINISTER TO A NEWSLETTER!!!

Secondly, it is a well-known FACT the Lew Rockwell, who’s sometimes rumored to be the author of the newsletters, is a CLOSE Paul adviser and a total fuckin nut!

More importantly, Paul is clearly well-versed in dog-whistle politics. Today, he might not put out explicit racist material though he did author a book which he REPRINTED in 2008 without edits that’s just as racially inflammatory as the newsletters. For example, he writes against equal pay, and states that those who get sexually harassed should be partially blamed for it. LOL!! The book was published by the Ludwig von Mises Institute which is tied to neo-confederate views.

But his whole spiel about “states rights” is from a page taken from segregationists who used the same rationale in order to sustain Jim Crow. Paul is a fuckin racist who OPENLY advocates racist policies,. In addition, his conspiracy theory-fueled economic policies would get him laughed out of ANY substantive economic discussion, and that end the fed shit, is thinly veiled antisemitism

    Fuckin idiots.

So much anger. I guess the media has done its job

      • http://heavyarmor.wordpress.com Heavy Armor

And, just like your average 2-Party politician (mostly the Elephants), Blaming “The Media” becomes reason du jour when you can’t counter the presented evidence with solid evidence of your own.

How is “The Media” responsible for the racist and homophobic language in Ron Paul’s newsletters?  And, remember, those newsletters ran for more than a decade.  Where does “The Press” come in when Ron Paul writes about the “Homosexual Troika” inside the Bush White House?  Or, better yet, should we even question where Paul was awarded his medical degree when he called AIDS…and I quote…Gay-Related Immune Deficiency Syndrome?  His newsletter claimed that the name was changed to AIDS as part of the Troika’s coverup in part of a Nefarious Plot to wipe of Christianity from the US…or some similar claptrap.

Do you know who else called AIDS a Gay-Related Disease at the time?

        Ronald Reagan.

That was not one Reagan’s finest moments in the White House.  And yet, medical doctor Ron Paul took that ball and ran with it.  Even though medical science was trying to say otherwise at the time.

        Not very smart of him.

Your defense of Paul is just a variation of the “Taken Out of Context” argument in trying to defend the racist and homophobic newsletters.  So, I ask you, “What was taken out of context with regards to Ron Paul’s Newsletters?”

You may want to read through some of the links to his actual newsletters before you return with an answer.
